The deadly rabies virus may be transmitted by humans from the saliva of infected animals, making rabies a serious public health concern. The rabies virus is often disseminated by bites. The species most likely to transmit rabies in the United States include skunks, foxes, coyotes, bats, and raccoons. In developing countries, rabies is most frequently spread via stray dogs.Aim of the Study:to assess the demographic characteristics and clinical symptoms of patients presenting after animal bites in Baghdad, with particular emphasis on the species of biting animals, potential rabies exposure, and the post-exposure management provided, includingwound care, rabies vaccination, rabies immunoglobulin, and other supportive treatments. The study also aimed to identify demographic patterns that may be relevant to rabies prevention and public-health interventions in Iraq .Patients and Methods:A retrospective hospital-based clinical study was conducted among patients presenting to Baghdad Medical City Hospital, Baghdad, following animal bites or other potential rabies exposures. Eligible patients were identified from medical records according tothe documented history of animal exposure and clinical assessment at presentation. Data were reviewed regarding demographic characteristics, biting animal species, exposure circumstances, wound management, and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), including rabies vaccination and rabies immunoglobulin where documented. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize demographic and clinical characteristics, while the Chi-square test was applied for categorical comparisons where appropriate.Results:Thirty-six percent of the fifty patients presenting after animal exposure in this research were under the age of twenty. Of them, 26% were in the 20–30 age range. Twelve percent of them were in the 30–40 age range. 26%of them were older than forty. With a male to female ratio of 72% to 28%, there were more male patients than female patients

Background: Coronaviruses are noteworthy disease-causing agents in humans andanimals. A new strain of this virus was detected in 2019 as the source of a pneumoniaoutbreak in Wuhan, a city in China. The virus, originally named 2019-nCoV, quicklyescalated from an epidemic within China to a global pandemic. The World HealthOrganization labeled the disease as COVID-19 in February 2020, which was caused bythe severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Coronaviruses are alarge family of viruses that also include pathogens like Middle East respiratory syndrome(MERS-CoV) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV). Early data suggeststhat roughly 99% of COVID-19 cases present with mild symptoms, while the remainingcases are severe or critical. As of January 31, 2021, there have been a total of103,286,991 reported cases worldwide, with 2,232,776 deaths. Vaccines have appearedas a crucial tool in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection and are considered the mostpromising approach to curbing the pandemic. The first human clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines began in March 2020, and several phase III trials have been completed orare nearing completion.Study design and sample collection: This is a cross-sectional study that was collectedfrom different Iraqi province, the study was involved 125 persons. Data collection duringSeptember 2021. A web-based self-report survey was administered to vaccinated persons. The electronic survey was administered through Google Form software. The survey linkwas distributed electronically via different social media groups (Facebook, WhatsApp,and Telegram).Result: The median age of persons who was taken the vaccine is 32 years old. Thefemales were higher than males in getting the vaccine with (56%) women and (44%) formen. A 59.2% of people were administer Pfizer vaccine, 24% were administerAstraZeneca and only 16.8% of people were administer Sino pharm. About half ofpersons (67) had fever, headache and arthralgia were occur in (51) and (43) personsrespectively and then followed by pain at the site of injection about (14) persons. morethan half people (70) had been shown adverse effects within first 12 hours and about (39)people had been shown adverse effects after 12 hours, these adverse effect durations werefrom 24 hours to more than 3 days. most people about (84) had been administeredacetaminophen while (24) people were taken non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs torelief these symptom (PDF) Migration Letters Adverse Effects of Covid-19 Vaccines Among Iraqi People.
